Barklee is my guide dog. He is a large, and by
all accounts good looking Golden Retriever
and naturally, as all first time guide dog owners, I think he practically
walks on water!
I got Barklee in late November 2007. I had navigated
fairly successfully using a White Cane for about 10 years but nothing
could have prepared me for the shock of actually getting around with
Since then Barklee has accompanied me on almost
every training session I have conducted and hundreds of meetings and
consultations all over the country.
No surprise, he has generated a considerable fan club of his own.
Recently I had been asked by a good client
to return to conduct a Executive Meeting Disability programme.
For some reason I said should I bring Barklee? She just looked at me
and said: "absolutely!, in fact dont bother coming if you don't!"
